For some time (years actually!) I believed that I was a democrat person, that I gave the same opportunities to everyone without any prejudgments. And I emphasize on “believe” because it really had turned into a belief. It was kind of how I defined myself. Then something happens to me and I fail to be someone I thought I was this whole time. As simple as that.
It’s funny how everyone thinks they’re this liberal open minded individual who can put in with every situation imaginable when they’ve not even been in “every situation imaginable!” yet. All I’m saying is that let’s just accept that we’re not above the human kind and we have flaws. It is better than having a holier than thou preconception of ourselves and it could get really miserable when forced to face the reality.

You may have experienced that feeling of inadequacy, the feeling that no matter what you do and how hard you try, you're still not good enough. That you're stuck at the bottom of the food chain! That you get picked only as a last choice.
And how you long for someone to appreciate you, how you long for someone to look deeper, to try to get to know you before they decide you're a throw away. And when someone does, you get this amazing feeling that NO ONE can take away from you! Suddenly you want to tell all those people who made you feel inadequate to sod off! :D I think this feeling alone makes this crappy life worthwhile! :D
